Author Topic: Imgur not working?  (Read 2012 times)

Ugh, this problem has been going on for two days now. I have not reached the maxed images. I thought I did, so I deleted some images and yet this loving problem still continues. It happened after I read this message called "Year Trophy". I cant upload any stuff onto my gallery whatsoever. It just stays there pending. I waited twenty minutes and it still was pending.

If anyone can think of a solution, it will be appreciated.

make a new imgur account.

make a new imgur account.
I already tried this and the problem persists.

I have to use Photobucket for now and I'm loving confused by it. Here's how the message looks like:

Woah, what? There are max images on imgur registered accounts? Without an account you can make as many as you want.... Whats the point of an account if it limits you?

why the forget would anyone want an account for any reason other than commenting

There isn't a limit on image uploads for registered accounts. The limit is how many of your own uploads you can see. Last time I checked, all uploads beyond 225 won't be displayed. In order to see them, you have to delete others. They all still exist and are marked up on your account, but they force you to clear newer images to even see older ones you might not even want.

That's why I still use Photobucket and ImageShack, and usually upload images without being logged in on Imgur. They are richards about storage space. Uploading on your account basically does "You can see the last 225 files you've uploaded" while logged out, you have to manually keep track. Dumb.

keeping track of your pics

keeping track of your pics

why would you want to keep track of your pics when you can just re-upload them

I use Imgur because it's forum link's are the shortest, making it easy.

I also keep track of my picture's just incase I need them for something.

EDIT: Might move to ImageShack. I tried it and it's format look's great.

Sometimes people don't have the luxury of staying at one house or computer, and can't be bothered to use a USB or something for all their pictures.
Just a personal scenario, not sure if it applies to him.

That really doesn't make sense to me. Unless you truly can not find the URL of an image you uploaded, why not use the same URL globally? It gives you more control over deleting it globally, or just in general not having 30 different image URLS for the same thing and wasting everyone's space overall.

Although specifically, I just don't understand why you'd re-upload what you know is already there.

As for Imgur hiding images, it's an annoying practice used to force people to delete their images, and it only applies to registered people, as unregistered loose ownership of images, making them somewhat permanent (pending moderation).

I just don't understand why you'd re-upload what you know is already there.

because it's part of my master plan to take down imgur, obviously
