Author Topic: really dumb alert on youtube  (Read 1911 times)

so ever since i moved, i've had this annoying little notice at the top of youtube

this is because it's noticed that i'm signing in from a different location than the first one i signed in on
it's never gone away and there's no way to close it, there's no X at the end of the box to make it go away, and if i click on the "was it you" link i can't find a way to delete it

well actually, i googled it and apparently if you go into the settings on gmail you can hide it, but it takes a week to make it go away and you'll never get alerts for other suspicious things happening in your account (i don't know exactly what it disables but i think it's things other than just that orange box)
why couldn't i just close the box, it'd be a lot easier

anyway i'm hoping disabling that setting will work but i won't know for another week unless i misunderstood what it was saying, i'm pretty sure it said it takes a week to disable it
but i just wanted to share this because it's really dumb even though it's not really that obnoxious, i just don't like having the alert there, and i was wondering if anyone else has had this happen

someone was probably looking at your history to see if you really don't look at research

i know why it's there, it's because i moved and now i'm not logging in from the place where i made my account, so it thinks i'm someone else
