Where are temporary server files stored?

Hey guys,
I might be changing operating systems soon, so where are all of those temporary files you download while loading stored?
I'm talking about the ones that are downloaded and make loading faster. Ex: The loading bar says "downloading file x out of x". Where are those files stored?

the only reason you'd have for doing that is if you wanted to get somebody's private addon that you clearly aren't supposed to have
