lol pretty much the boat I'm in.

My ex-step-mother brought up the good point that I wasn't going to wear it so therefore I shouldn't get one, but since I knew my dad had one from his high school back in Chicago I kinda wanted to meet traditional standards.

Yeah they actually first give the orientation about class rings to freshmen and let them order
Stupid IMO but then again I am only a sophomore and already have one
