I know there's a way to waterize any brick so it acts like a water brick, though I don't remember if it was default or in as an add-on.

ModTer is useful. Bricks can be planted in and through it without Overlapping. You can make water like that.

Except water is the same brick layer as modter

I prefer using mod-ter bricks to make bricks float inside them, really useful for brickscapes.
