Author Topic: Am i allowed to post how to get v20?  (Read 3830 times)

Personally I don't understand why it's bannable
Why does minecraft allow players to use pass versions, but on blockland it's bannable? Just general rules?
Executables were actually never allowed to be posted here...

Because this game is not Minecraft
it was simply for comparison, I realize it's not minecraft, I was just trying to understand if there was some difference in the way the game functions.

I think using old versions is ok occasionally, for the nostalgic value, but if it posts to the master server, that should be against the rules.

For example, I use current version 99 percent of the time, but occasionally my close friends and I load up v20 to go skiing, and we just connect to IP so it doesn't mess with the server list.

If that is still bad and I'm just dumb, I apologize.

There's an infinite number of fundamental differences between Blockland and Minecraft. You may as well have said "Tetris allows players to use past versions, why is it bannable on Blockland?"

forgive me for not using battletoads as opposed to minecraft or tetris then, I am so sorry.
The question, again, was not about similarities between the two, but why varying versions within the game would be harmful wherein my example, i.e. Minecraft, it's typically not.

why the hell is there even an example of minecraft?

Minecraft detects if the server is running an earlier or later version and stops the client from joining by displaying an error message that boots you out to your server list. Blockland doesn't detect it, it expects all of the servers to run under the same major version, otherwise it will crash. That is why Badspot made a version checker for the master list to verify if it's a V21 server, but some people edited their V20 servers to be accepted by the master list by changing their version variable. Also Minecraft doesn't have an official server list, while Blockland does. There are 2 entirely different games and should not be compared.

Off Topic: I remember the days when Minecraft DID have a server list.

the only reason why you'd get v20 is just for maps

that's pretty much it right?

yea, i would just play it for driving vehicles or skiing down slopes, or exploring maps like bedroom and kitchen.
