Author Topic: Potentially messing with naming system?  (Read 920 times)

What if you bought a new key, signed in, and changed your name to Blockhead[yourID+1] before the next key was bought and used. I don't know if it's possible to do this because of how often keys are bought, but does anyone know what would happen if you could do it fast enough?

Also, I have no intention of doing this, it's just a thought I had.

just change your name to Blockhead[yourID+20] then twiddle your thumbs

this doesn't answer your question but now it's actually plausible to do it successfully. i think the other per... hmm i don't know. maybe they take your id or something?

Hmmm, that would work.

If only we could get Badspot to tell us... Hint hint...

I'm pretty sure they'd be named Blockhead[theirID+1] and the next person would do the same, and so on. Hasn't it happened before?

that could create a problem

This has happened before. Every blockhead after you will hve a number 1 higher than their id until Badspot fixes it by skipping an id.

Or the person after the Blockhead[yourID+1] could just get Blockhead[yourID] amd the problem is instantly solved.

so:
blockhead1336 changes his name to blockhead1337
some guy buy blockland and gets id 1337: so he should get blockhead 1337
however some starfish took it, so the guy who bought id 1337 will get blockhead 1336 according to your logic

Yes but "special" ID's are removed so it doesn't matter anyways.

Should I try this, I mean, there's a way to do this without buying a new key. Just go on RTB and see who the newest member is, then check their id and so forth.

"Blockhead33560 has joined the game"

Do NOT try this, we don't need Badspot wasting his time fixing it when he could be working on updates and getting it ready for steam. I don't know how long it would take to fix it, but I'd rather be safe than sorry. Don't make me regret posting this.
