I don't know a lot about cooling but I understand the importance of it, and I understand there's chemical and fan cooled, but what tends to be better? I've seen nitrogen cooled CPUs and they always look neat and spacey but I dunno about the practicality.

Anyone wanna share their knowledge?
you don't really need to buy a 3rd party fan unless you are overclocking or require total silence. and just for a normal computer user, a air cooler is the best option. I would recommend cooler master 212 evo. closed-loop coolers are usually just stuff and liquid nitrogen coolers are for extreme enthusiasts who jack off to high 3dmark scores

My current pc is running with a 1gb graphics card, back in the day it looked like the current 2gbs and comes with its own fan(Takes the room of two slots :C instead of one like the current 1gbs). Even with that fan it still gets rather hot. I have four fans running in my computer and I've encounter no problems, granted though, the computer I'm currently using isn't as good as the one I'm getting now, but in my honest opinion you shouldn't need high end cooling. Just make sure you clean out the fans every month at least. Don't take just my word though, I'm running on a five year old PC and have never used liquid cooling for the system or a chemical cooling for a cpu, though if you can afford it, why the hell not(If you've gotten all the other goodies of course)

I agree with you, and you explain it better then me. Thank you for destroying my 'hard' work in one single blow xD

Uh, doesn't this belong in the computer megathread?

Yes. Yes it does

there is not a single rule in the history of the universe that says you can't post topics about something for which a self-declared "megathread" already exists

I know that, but it saves up space, LOTS of space. Remember those people that used to make stuff threads whereas there were already megathreads related to the stuff they were posting?

If you're arguing semantics, the question he asked is "does it belong in the computer megathread". And it does. I didn't say anything about how this topic shouldn't have been posted, nor did I suggest he move it there. You're being extremely oversensitive

it does not save enough space to make it worth having to post something more than once in a thread that already exists

I'm not arguing semantics tho, we both know what you actually meant

Let's put things in perspective: You're annoyed by either me specifically or by all of the people that always say "belongs in megathread". I'll assume it's the second one because I don't recall ever arguing with you before. Guess what, I (and others) are annoyed by all of the mini computer-related topics that get posted individually, instead of helping to keep the megathread float in the sea of spam that we like to call Off-Topic.

Are the magnitudes of our separate annoyances very far apart? I don't think so

let's put the entire situation into a more valuable perspective
he got about a whole page of useful responses by making a topic
speaking from experience, that's leagues ahead of what you'd get from that "megathread," assuming you actually got any responses instead of being ignored

I'm not annoyed by the simple fact that you people try to tell others where to put their questions, I'm annoyed because that advice is terrible

He would have got the same response, if not with more information, within a few posts

"he" didn't ask for a full page of arguing about whether or not I should've used the megathread.

It wasn't on the first page, my phone battery was about to die, and I wanted to get my question out there, so I made a topic. What I should have done is too late, what I could have done is too late, and now all that's left is the result. I got what I needed, and the topic has been useful. The only reason I've yet to lock it is in case other people have questions or I have more questions.
