I have uploaded and waited for it to attempt to change my profile picture, but nothing happens. It just stays as this current profile. Not sure what is going on.

Try re-encoding the image in a new format. I've had issues with the server rejecting certain images, and it just came down to changing it enough that it stopped rejecting it.
