Author Topic: MIDI plugin for chrome or firefox that isn't QuickTime  (Read 937 times)

I want to be able to play MIDI files on Chrome or Firefox without QuickTime.

If there isn't, am I able to replace the soundfont that QuickTime uses?

Please, I really don't want to have to use QuickTime.

nvm everyone is too loving lazy to script a plugin and release it based on vigorous searching (it's not this community's fault) so I decided to deal with it.

I'm pissed.

Does it play MIDI files in the browser? No.

Does it play MIDI files in the browser? No.

err, it says it'll play them through java script?

To replace the soundfont in Quicktime:

Mac: http://hints.macworld.com/article.php?story=20020607084544928

Windows: http://wiki.spheredev.org/Changing_soundfonts

And if you wanna choose your own soundfont for playing midis outside browsers: http://coolsoft.altervista.org/en/virtualmidisynth

I have VirtualMIDISynth, it only works with programs that you can change the MIDI Out

btw the problem's simply that it has to download in order for QuickTime to play it and there's no way to make it play in browser.

I did it with the BASSMIDI soundfont picker driver.
