Author Topic: Question about using instrumentals on Youtube  (Read 876 times)

So I plan to use an instrumental of a popular rap song in a gaming video of mine, I was wondering if I would have any major copyright issues with that. It would play for pretty much the entire video, and majority of the song would be used, but just the instrumental. If any one has a decent amount of knowledge on copyright and youtube I would really appreciate the help.

I am pretty sure that it would only matter if the original author found your video and complained. I am pretty sure that would never happen.

credit the original author atleast

This. If you do this than I see no problem with it. It's just background music.

In other videos of mine ive credited the original author and still had problems.

What problems? How many views are your videos getting?

Like 30 lol. I got claims by nintendo on one video and another by sony music entertainment on another. The nintendo one i cant dispute as of right now and the sony one is not a valid claim, they said i was using their song, but instead i was using their song remixed by adventure club, which im allowed to use.

Well dang, there really going out there to crack a video that has 30 views.

EDIT: Use classical music or royalty-free stuff. They often sound plesent and you can't get yelled at for those.
