Author Topic: allow me to request the opinions of a lego forum for a potential purchase  (Read 562 times)

i want a graphics tablet because the one i currently borrow is gross (and not really mine)

this is da one i borrow (Wacom Bamboo Fun CTE-650):

i would like to know if it's worth trying to get another one with a budget of around $100 (and a product you would recommend). that budget may be extended to around $150, so feel free to suggest up to there as well.

or maybe you guys think it's a terrible idea to get a new one because the one i have

wacom tablets are awful

i have a digipro tablet i got for around 80$ and it works much better than the wacom tablets i've tried, also the pens have programmable buttons on them which are super useful
honestly past the 60$-80$ range it doesn't get much better. they have some neat buttons and features and things but they draw roughly the same.

They're really not. If you haven't tried anything that isn't their cheapo line, they are professional tools. I also just realized they did pretty much discontinue their cheapo line now too, since their Intuos line became the old Bamboo line, and the Bamboo line became the mobile stylus stuff. The problem lies in their price point. Since they are the 80% of the tablet market, they can set pretty much whatever price they want, and people will pay it.

the title first made me think you somehow got news that another company wanted to buy these forums
then it made me think that you may have found a lego forums that is up for purchase

right, but it's still possible to find tablets of similar quality for a lower price, so why not aim for those?

My mother got a bamboo tablet for work on photo editing and retouching, and she's had a great experience.

i got a bamboo pen and touch (wish i'd just gotten the pen version because i never use the touch function) and it's really nice
my only complaint is that it's finicky in it's old age and doesn't always want to work. it'll fuss about the tablet driver not running and sometimes the pressure won't work.

My school has a bunch of these. Pretty good, I guess.
