Author Topic: Recommend me a [Wireless] headset  (Read 667 times)

I've had a plantronics .Audio 655 DSP for years now, which has been a really solid unit, dropped so many times and only problem after this long is the rubber has frayed on the earpieces.

I need some recommendations for a new headset, but this time my preference is on getting something wireless. Only reason being is that I use dictation software a lot and I would prefer to be able to walk around and use my whiteboard while I'm dictating. With that, obviously microphone quality is probably the most important factor to make sure the accuracy of dictation is the best it can be. I don't want to blow a huge amount of money on it, so anything under $300 suits.

Recommendations?

Options so far:
Plantronics .Audio 995 Wireless Headset - $89.00
Logitech Wireless gaming headset G930 - $150.00

I use this. It's a gaming headset, but whatever.
Yeah gaming headsets are fine, just so long as the microphone quality is good

I'll add it to my list, it's around $150 here

i'd say get the plantronics, that's like the only brand of headsets i've ever stuck with because they're so good
i've only ever used the gamecom series though so i wouldn't really know for the .audio's

Logitech build quality is crap, from my experience. I'd go with the Plantronics (unless you find something better later on)

The Corsair Vengeance 2000 is roughly around the same price as the Logitech G930.

Logitech G-930, my current headset and I love it so much. The Mic quality is also great, if that's one thing you're looking for.

You must've had a really, really stuffty experience.

you bet. i went through three high end logitech keyboards in the span of a year before i got a rosewill

i have a headset i bought from them about a year ago. its in three different pieces now

I don't know if any of these will really be what i'm after, having second thoughts tbh

I've got a rode podcaster as a desktop mic right now which i've always used for dictation. i do want to be able to stand up and walk around though, really torn..
