Author Topic: confused about data usage?  (Read 877 times)

Okay I have unlimited data which says "high speed"

But about a week ago they throttled me and I called about it, and they said I changed the plan to 500 MBS of data. They didn't throttle me until I hit 4000 MBS for some reason. My mom said she did not change the plan. After 500 MBS they slow us down to 2g speeds. I was pissed off and called them and didn't even tell me any information after I told them to tell me why throttled me to 2g speeds, then they rejected me asking for their supervisor. So what does this mean?

If it's a pre paid phone, they usually have it in their ToS that they will throttle your speeds after a certain amount of data usage.
And if you pass a certain amount they will disable your internet completely.
Else, check your ToS still, something might be in there.

I bought the phone through Walmart but we have the phones through t mobile monthly. But they said we changed our bill. I heard people exceed 10 gigs on a unlimited data plan and don't get throttled.

Assuming you are talking about the plan here
TMobile Monthly 4G
At the bottom they say this.
Network Management: Data traffic of postpaid plans with limited high-speed data allotments greater than 2GB will be prioritized over other currently offered plans during periods of congestion. Service may be slowed, suspended, terminated, or restricted for misuse, abnormal use, interference with our network or ability to provide
quality service to other users, or significant roaming.

If that isn't your plan, you still should check your ToS.
Almost all unlimited plans throttle your speed.

I've been with straight talk not knowing that they will throttle me until I used roughly 5gb of data and then they cut my internet off completely on my phone.
I've learned to read the ToS from then on with any plans I buy.

Were on a plan it says "Simple Choice VAL..."

I get unlimited talk text and internet.

How do you even survive on 3g?

How do you even survive on 3g?
It's easier if you never had 4g.

I can't find anything about that plans ToS.
But I'm certain they have something about throttling your speeds in it somewhere.
Unless you actually pay for your data per GB they usually cut you off at 2.5GB.

I had 3g for my iPad 1 and it was torture. I have 4g LTE for my iPad Air now and it's about as fast as wifi.

I have 3G on my Moto G and its about as fast as LTE on one of my older phones...

i think my sii has 4g. i dont know. but i get no charge while im using my internet connection, which is great.

Where do people even have these unlimited data plans? I have never, ever seen anything like that. All plans you can get in germany are either cut off at 0.5-2 GB, the 5 GB ones are already rediculously expensive.

I pay $79.99 a month for unlimited data, texting, minutes, etc for my phone.

I got unlimited data back before AT&T dropped that plan, and they allowed me to keep it. Frankly, as long as they don't drop me from that plan, I'll be a lifetime customer at AT&T because of it. Definitely worth their cash to offer me unlimited data.
