Author Topic: Need help hosting on tethered internet  (Read 908 times)

When I host my server while connected to my phone's tethered net, my ping is dead. Any ideas?

Do you have an android or ios device?

i can't personally help you
what you need to do is find a port forwarding app capable of forwarding UDP
almost a dead guarantee it'll be in cydia or whatever the hell it's called.
when you get your hands on it, forward 28000 to 28000 on your computer. it's basically the same as any other port forwarding thing, just with a smartphone instead of a router

The only thing I can find is some ten dollar app for forwarding ports on you router with your phone, which won't help me at all here. :\

Try typing IPv4 in adress bar, if this does not work. Search for the Internet provider and if there is a login option, then login. There will be a setting for port forwarding. I had to same problem but i just logged in my internet provider. For the record, my internet provider is 'Telenet' incase you wonder.

Phone's aren't strong enough to host a server.

Actually I can host Terraria servers and play games on xbox live with my tethered net. It's plenty strong enough.

Nothing is accomplished for me by trying to connect to my ipv4, and I don't think I can do any port forwarding by signing in to my sprint account.
