Author Topic: Slayer- bots can be on teams with themselves, but not players?  (Read 1066 times)

Hey, a couple friends and I are making a TDM with bots, however- we have the bot holes colored the same color as the team, and I used the setteam event to make them on the same team as their corresponding slayer teams. Unfortunately, the bots seem to ignore this, and attack the players on sight- even when they are supposed to be on the same team.

Are we missing something here? How do we put bots onto slayer teams with players?

Download the Slayer beta from here: http://scatteredspace.com/Moderator/Public/Users/Greek2me/Gamemode_Slayer/Gamemode_Slayer.zip

Then open the team settings and set Preferred Players to some number. Slayer will then add/remove bots to make sure that team always has that number of players. The bots will spawn at human spawns, which can be evented with onBotSpawn events.

Thanks for the response! Now, is it at all possible to make it so that bots will spawn from designated spawns- in the same fashion as say, a creep in a moba, or a unit in an RTS? If this is not possible, I'll find a way to make do, it's just horribly inconvienent. I remember reading an old post in regards to team bot holes, did those get cut out at one point? If so, why?

Thanks again for the helpful answer!

One more question to those who can help: how do I stop a bot from being able to move at all? I set their wander distance to "Stay at spawn", but unfortunately, they run off whenever they detect an enemy. I haven't really messed around with the new bots before now, but is there no way to restrict them from moving at all, but still allow them to aim? (like you could with the old bot events)?

They were cut because I don't have time to make them work properly.

There should be a movement speed event or something. You could try setting that to 0.
