Author Topic: I'm Super Sick But Have Prom Today  (Read 1086 times)

Guys I need help, I don't know what to do.

Over the past couple of days I've developed a seriously bad fever and I have prom today.
I don't want to be a huge disappointment by not going but at the same time I feel so sick that I just don't have the energy to do this. I have family coming over to see me before I leave and stuff. I've been up since 1 AM and its 6 AM right now and I was in the bathroom for 2-3 hours throwing up. I don't know if I should go or not and I don't know if my family are going to try and force me to go. Any thoughts on what I should do?

Should I stay home until I get better, Or should I just go anyways?

I doubt they're even going to let you go if they know you're throwing up and stuff.

Well my mom was head of design for the prom and I bought a suit and stuff to wear.
I don't know if they're gonna let me stay home or if they're going to force me to go so that I don't waste the money they spent on me.
I feel really bad that this is happening too. I know how much work everyone put into this.

That sucks turbo balls, I'd say probably try to tough it out but if it's really too much to handle then don't worry about it.
It's lame but would you rather miss out on the prom or go there feeling like stuff and throwing up?

To stop throwing up, take a combination of Tums and a proton pump inhibitor. That will prevent your stomach from producing stomach acid and the Tums will reduce the acidity of your stomach. Then take some Tylenol (better for fevers) closer to when you leave, unless you plan on drinking, at which point take Ibuprofen because you can actually seriously damage your liver if you have alcohol and Tylenol in your system at the same time. I would also drink some coffee, but if you can't stomach it I would take Ginseng instead. Just be aware that Ginseng's half life is much shorter (1/4th) than that of caffeine so it will wear off much sooner than coffee.

Then wash your hands and try not to cough on anyone.

I doubt that suppressing vomiting would do him any good in the long run.

This is a crappy situation, but if you can't go, you can't go. You'll just have to accept the fact that sometimes life will simply stuff on you.

We're not talking about the long run, we're getting through the evening. No doubt he will feel like absolute stuff tomorrow.

I just talked with my dad and my dad said to try and rest all day until prom, And if I still don't feel well then to stay home.

Oh god I feel so sorry for you. The worst thing that can happen is when you're planning to do something fun but you feel way too sick to do it.

Sorry about you not feeling good, but your parents will understand you not going, you don't want to ruin your time being there sick.
If you're going to try and go, I heard eating starchy food will help with nausea, such as potatoes, etc.
But what ever you do, just remember your parents shouldn't be mad at you, if you're sick, you're sick, you can't help it.

cocaine
Can you stop?

On Topic: I talked with my parents for a while and they said I should do my best today to feel better, And if I still didn't feel good enough to go then I should stay home. Guess this has been solved. Thanks everyone for your opinions.
