It's possible, but it's also loving stupid. Why would you make a virus for the least popular of the three most popular computer operating systems out there.
That's like saying, "This only used by millions of people instead of billions, so eh forget it, I'm gonna go ahead and skimp out on making a virus for it.

Plus, people thought macs couldn't get viruses. They can. Anything can get a virus.

I'm not saying it's impossible. I'm saying it's rare.

EDIT: stuff, I just tried a different DE and they worked fine. It's a problem with my custom i3 wm config. Locking.
