I got my PC fixed (How do i run Fallout 3 windows 8?)

So basicly my harddrive had a ton of this wrong with it such as powerSurge, Virus, SATA capble broken in all the way so today i bought windows 8 and fixed my computer and i desided "Why not play my favorite game fallout 3?" So i installed it and started it up and the main menu was extreamly laggy(this never happened on windows 7), so then i thought it might just be a little glich that will go away, so i started a new game and it was still laging and it crashed at about %50 loaded. HELP!

if you are using an old file it might have been corrupted

start a new file

if not, try reinstalling fallout 3
or make sure windows 8 is updated
