Okay sorry for acting like a turd, guys. The intention of my post was not what you think it is. I meant that I would spend 2 hours training a paying client how to use Filezilla and the web control panel, but doing all that work for a free one is not worth it. I have also lost significant interest in the hosting service since 60% of my clients are inactive. Technically, I have 20 clients, but I feel like I only have 10. Also I have less free time these days, so teaching a client how to use the hosting service would be a big burden, especially for one who hasn't often ran dedicated BL servers.
My point is that the reaction of all of you was not my intention.
this. You morons in this topic have no idea how much loving trouble it is to help people do mundane stuff. You have to be
motivated to help people out like that. Be it money, needing those people for testing, or just out of the goodness of your heart for the handicapped kid who wants lemonade - I want to see you all try running a goddamn hosting service
for free and
not get irritated or refuse service to
anyone because they are simply too slow and holding their hand would take up
all your time.
Now, all you richardheads (literally
everyone in this topic) is underestimating rlcbm. That forgeter is
smart. Boy he types and looks stupid, but have you
seen the stuff he posts in the linux megathread? He is quite a bit smarter than he looks. Hammer, send him some tutorials or something. He'll figure it out.
Edit: Just checked his post history. A good majority of his posts are menial dumb crap, but he'll pretty regularly drop something that betrays a greater knowledge about computers than one might expect. Dual booting? Virtual machines?
Furthermore, we wouldn't've wasted the second page chewing out hammereditor if pacha hadn't sniped him. I don't know what's wrong with this community, but it has the worst pack mentality I've ever seen.
Is this actually true? In real life
I don't see any evidence to suggest that. He's pretty stuff at typing and putting his posts in the right place, but if you watch, you'll notice some very knowledgable comments here and there
