TBH, I kind of want to buy one. It's kinda... Tempting... But is it worth $50?

Yes, my friend owns two of them
You can actually fight with them
We do a fight thing and everyone brings their own. He lets me use his because I don't have one.

Violet, Cyan, Viridian and Silver are the best colors IMO.
Prices are loving insane. I can do this with an Arduino Mini, some LEGOs, superglue, LEDs, a x4AA battery holder and a poorman's accelerometer.

I bought one of the original Master Replicas Force FX LE lightsabers almost 10 years ago for $100. It's in mint condition and still in the box. Master Replicas shut down and now it's worth around $700

i thought it could make a beam without a tube

there has to be SOME way
maybe it can constantly mist and shine LED's so it lights up the mist particles? hm? clever?

Transparent glue and a green laser works very well as a lightsaber tube. Not sure if the same applies to LEDs since I didn't try it. Otherwise, find a transparent tube and connect LEDs in parallel and plug them into your microcontroller or the batpack.

these things are sweet
this guy on youtube made some pretty neat fight videos even though the punching and acting is cheesy their choreography is actually pretty impressive
