Anyways, keep them knees slightly bent and try to have fluid motions, especially when carving and pushing. Choppy/hesitant movements not only look not-so good, but you can end up just flying off of ye wooden plank. As far as board control goes, try pushing switch as well(not mongo, just switch). Try to learn how to ollie in that stance as well. Another thing to do is to just practice going really fast, pushing like a maniac, and learning tricks going at a moderate pace as well. It could help to practice other tricks besides ollies such as shuvits, pivots, railstands, caspers, nose stalls, manuals, etcetera. Just don't beat yourself up if it seems like you're making 0 progress. If something isn't working out for you, take a break and try again later on. Finally, all I have to say is just to commit. I've found myself getting forgeted up more if i'm scared to do something more than when i'm not. If you can't commit, you can't progress at all. Yes, you'll still get hurt, like a lot, but it's a learning process. Just don't try things you're not ready for at all (i.e., ollies down stairs, down high things, gaps). Also, learning buddies help.
I've only been skating for about 9 1/2 months , off and on, so i'm sharing what i've picked up. Good luck makin' progress, hoss
