Uhh.... I kind of have no where else to turn to, besides, you guys are geniuses.

I can't get another pet, so that thread is <useless>, but anyway, I have an issue with one of my grandparents' dogs, named Renni.

He's afraid of me, pretty bad. When I walk up to him while he's alone he runs straight to the pet door or under the table. When he's with someone else, he lets me pet him and scratch under his chin. I'd like to get to know him, but like I said, he will do anything to stay away from me.

How can I get him to like me/not be afraid of me?

Also, he might have had an issue with another kid that might be above/below my age.

One recommendation: I would try to feed him a basic thing like a biscuit or a tiny cracker and just leave your hand out with the food until he comes up to you, this way he'd build up his relationship with you. Never approach a dog just like that, in order for them to get to know you; smell is an important factor and feeling of being secure around the person is another thing as well.

1- Take him out to walk on a leash whether he likes it or not.
2- Play fetch with a ball with him.

Most important: Food isn't a tool. Food is a treat. Don't give him food for everything he does or he'll get used to working for food. Meaning he won't do stuff with you unless you have something to give him.

Thanks guys. I will try the treat thing but I know for a fact that he WILL NOT go for a walk with me unless I'm with my grandmother, he'll start squealing and growling and knocking me to my feet. I will try to play fetch with him, but I'm unsure whether it will work.

You should totally shag it.

he'll start squealing and growling and knocking me to my feet.
Show him who's boss. When he's about to attack you, gently hit his back legs with your foot. If he bites you, canine mouths have a small opening behind the fangs wide enough for you to put your finger. Put your thumb under his muzzle in the tissue area, your index finger under his tongue, press and hold, pulling downwards until he opens. You decide where you're going. Not him. He's your pet, remember that.

He doesn't really attack me, he just runs around in circles and makes me trip. Sometimes he'll growl really loud at me, but he's never attacked.

Also, pic of him so you can admire how cute he is.

I thought you said he was cute. What the hell is that?!
If he runs around in circles, just keep on walking and try to miss the leashes before you fall. Don't pay him any attention. He's trying to get you to take him back home. Take him wherever the hell you wanted to take him for as long as you want.
