Alright, so clearly this is a widespread problem.

Has anyone found a simple solution yet? I'm not fond of the idea of being unable to host.

Change ports?

My port is 28100 default, sometimes it is 30400, or even 31200.

Have you double checked your private IP against what your forwarded to?
If you didn't set a static IP, it can change

It's not a widespread issue, just a misconfiguration or router problem on your end.

Restarting your router (unplug, wait 10 seconds, plug back in) will usually fix these intermittent issues.

Problem fixed itself for all of us yesterday afternoon at the exact same moment.

Misconfiguration on our end. Sure.

It is, because what's almost certainly going on is that you didn't do it right. Therefore, to make it work at all, the matchmaker kicks in and helps (in theory). It was probably down for a bit.
