Author Topic: Just got my wisdom teeth out  (Read 1179 times)

Speaking of, my dad and I had a good laugh because at the dentist they had a clear box labeled "Anesthetics" and inside was just a flashlight.

i'm scared about having mine removed because in the xrays that were taken back when i had my braces done, they were pretty much sideways in my gums. and i'm apparently supposed to be getting them in in a year or so so uh
i'm super pain sensitive too and i already know that shots in my gums hurt and that laughing gas doesn't affect me at all
When I had mine out, they just gave me general anesthetic through an IV. I was super anxious at the time though because the idea of going under anesthesia is frightening to me lol.

Yeah they did it through an iv for me.
I was kinda nervous as well because a year ago when I had a tooth removed, they used nitros oxide and I had some bad hallucinations during the procedure.

when i was in a children's hospital several years ago for surgery they used some kind of gas that put me to sleep, but then when i went to the dentist to get my baby teeth pulled for my braces they gave me laughing gas and i didn't feel any different at all.
i'm also sort of nervous because i'm really resistant to most medicines, especially painkillers (and allergy medicine but that's off topic)

I'm part of the 1% of people that are resistant to Anesthetics

surgeries are not fun for me
Thats kinda hard to believe considering that they also have them so you don't freak out during surgery.

i've seen pictures of that stuff

kinda gross but intriguing.

I mean i was freaking out the whole way anyway

I'm a bit like this. Thankfully I have like seven years left before they need to get removed.

Was quite fun getting mine out. One of them had roots that had grown slightly into my sinus cavity. Couldn't blow my nose for days.

Im terrified of what Ill say when I get mine out

Idk if/when Ill get mine out

I was expecting to feel super high and giggly afterwards, but really it was just like I had woken up from a long nap and had a sort of sore mouth.

Also, Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd sounded exactly the same as it did when I listened to it without narcotics.

I got mine taken out. They put the gas over my face and were like count back from ten. I woke up and made a few irrational decisions before I came to my senses. (They were like taking the stuff off me so I took some needle out of my arm). Then I didn't take any pain medication at all because my teeth are special and it didn't hurt at all.

Yep.

I did worry that my deepest darkest secrets would come out, but we're good. I hope.

I feel like I'm gonna start swearing or say something about a research star or something lol

I had mine out 2~ weeks ago. I was out the moment they stuck the IV in my arm. Getting your wisdom teeth out isn't all that bad honestly. Of course, I was freaking out and the laughing gas didn't do much to help, so they just put me to sleep immediately. After about 3 or four days you can eat pretty regularly. You're actually surprisingly aware of your surroundings afterwards. You can stop yourself from saying anything. You have complete control of your body. Mouth and all. Except, your balance won't be too good.

Note: you will sound like a "special" child afterwards, so keep that in mind.

Oh, also, you most likely won't remember anything during or at least 15-20 minutes after they take them out, and make sure to get them removed AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. The younger you are, the easier it is.
