Sound/video players break after playing a game.

Just a bit of general help here.
I've noticed after I play payday 2 on my computer, all my video and sound players stop working. I can't go on iTunes, vlc, windows media player or YouTube. If I play a video it will act as if it is paused.
The problem is resolved when I restart my computer.
Anyone have any idea why this is happening to me?
