Author Topic: Why doesn't Blockland Shaders have support for OS X?  (Read 2337 times)

Im pretty sure that is not the reason...
I'm pretty sure he is joking..

I have no idea what the rest of this post was, but "OS X" is the Apple equivalent of "Windows"
just like there's Windows 8 and 7 and Vista, there's OS X Yosemite, Mavericks, and Mountain Lionaccording to what thorfin said, Intel graphics cards don't support OpenGL, and based on what thorfin said, badspot used OpenGL for this, so that is probably pretty unlikely if both of these things are true
Erm I put in OP that I use a GTX 670...Not exactly sure where people are grabbing intel from..

why not dualboot??? youll have access to a lot more games and features that way

well then I have no idea why it doesn't work. and I don't think thorfin was right because intel cards do seem to support OpenGL
but I still doubt he's gonna try to fix it

Yeah, there are different operating systems OS. when you want to download a game, it usually just has one download for Mac and the other windows operating systems. But does the Mac version run differently when place on a different operating system with OS? No, it's not incompatible.

Can someone translate what this guy is saying?

Well can't you dual-boot OS X and Windows or something?
I wouldn't know if this would fix the problem at all though. You don't have an Intel GPU tho so maybe?
EDIT: Boot Camp allows for that so maybe shader support is just an issue with the operating system or something?

It's not that Intel graphics cannot run OpenGL or DirectX (thats kind of the whole purpose of integrated graphics)
Its that the integrated graphics can't compile certain shaders, so Blockland's shaders aren't compiled and the game can't use them.

It mainly depends on what Intel CPU you have, some can support newer versions of Shader Model and (alot of them) can only support a version that happens to be below Blockland's version, or just doesnt support shaders at all.

I'm not sure why it isnt working on Mac then, could you post a console.log?

I think I've seen another person having shaders on mac.

Stop trying to talk about computers; you loving suck at it.

I built a hackintosh that rins Win8.1 and OSX, but again, in the OP I clearly stated that booting into windows just for shader pictures is a major inconvenience.

we need an expert

There are no different operating system macs, it's all OS and crap. No OS 7, Vista, XP, or 8.

I'd laugh until I died if OS XP came out.
Yes, because it's impossible to boot into other operating systems on a Mac. I cannot even understand what you were trying to say here
