yes the main purpose for most air raid sirens was to strike absolute terror into those on the ground who heard it.

yeah my bad I mixed the two up because they both fit the general bill of warning that bombs are about to be dropped,, just that air raid sirens warn a civilian population to safety while Stuka siren is like "forget you you're all going to die"

although air raids did end up killing a lot of people anyways so both sirens signaled impending doom

purposes were different though, my bad
