More like the blackground, right??
The red fades into the black making it pretty hard to clean up, even if attempted it would probably look pretty shabby.

also just leave the way it is, it really doesn't matter

It looks pretty stuffty as there is no full background, there are many different shades of grey, and the dark red is really hard to tell what is background and what's not.
edit: it looks a bit better without the red

If you are on photoshop, right click magic wand, 'points sample 5 by 5'. Or more if you have to.
