Author Topic: My exhaust falls off my bike, ride home like a moron  (Read 771 times)

So the stufftiest thing happened today. I was riding back home after coming off of this bumpy ass road with cracks everywhere, and all of a sudden I hear my bike get drastically louder. To the point where it was hurting my ears even with my helmet on. A few miles up I found a safe place to pull over, and after examining my bike I noticed that the exhaust was completely gone. I went back and found it just laying in the middle of the road -_- Basically I didn't have any rope in my backpack or anything so I just had to slip it between my back and my backpack, so it looked like this

It was literally only held on by one of the straps with the loop in it. I couldn't go fast at all because once the RPM's got to around 4k it just became way too loud, and I was afraid that it would fall off my back and hit a car or something. I can't put it back on either because the clamp was cracked :(

lmao that sucks

I was riding on Wednesday, made a left hand turn and my chain well off causing the wheel to lock up. Good thing I wasnt going 50. going to take a look at a couple motorcycles today

what kinda bike is it?

Wow really takes einstein to figure this one out

That was kinda rhetorical lol I just wanted to share the story. I removed it anyway

The only problem with seeing a mechanic is the possibility of getting a ticket on my way there because he's in a different town

How big is the bike? Is it not possible to get it driven there in a van or similar?

haha thats sick

must have been wicked load without the exhaust

I could probably get it into a truck, we still have the ramps from when I bought it a while back.

Honestly though I'm debating on just buying a new exhaust on ebay and putting it on myself. The one that fell off was just a slip-on, so if I bought a new one I think it'd be pretty easy to install myself

It definitely was lol. I feel like people thought I was trying to be an starfish by taking it off, but really I was just trying to get home ._.
