Author Topic: Considering taking commissions for music, need advice  (Read 478 times)

Hey BLF.  I hope this comes across positively.

Several factors have recently lead me to consider that it wouldn't be entirely unreasonable to start a new business: Fulfilling requests for original music compositions in exchange for money.

The only problem is, I'm not really sure how to go about this.  I've never really done anything business-related before.  It's apparent people like/want my music, and I have ways receiving payment, but I don't really know where to go from here.  Mostly I don't know where to find people who would be interested in original music for a project and willing to pay ~50 bucks per minute.

I'm aware asking BLF for advice on anything is often futile, but can any of you offer me any help?

If there's enough people liking your music, I'd maybe release an album or two on Bandcamp first. If that works out well enough maybe you could start doing original compositions for people for money.

I dunno. Just throwing ideas out there.

I think putting your music on a site that they can buy it from would be a good start
