best thing you can get anywhere near the price these days

if you want in-ears, get an Etymotic ER-4PT (its more expensive though)

V-Moda Crossfade LP
Absolutely not. Overpriced basshead trash with semi-decent build quality at best.

Well I'm not a headphone addict, but these cans seem pretty good for me.

I thought crossfades were supposed to be extremely durable?

OT: Sony MDR-v6's, and a modmic

Durable =/= good build quality

OT:
the V6 is a good choice in the <$100 range, but only if you get the right pair of earpads to tame the treble resonations

also I think it's been discontinued so you'll have to order the studio version, the MDR-7506, instead

IME Beyerdynamic EDT-231V pads work the best but they kind of fit weird

Beyerdynamic EDT-250V pads are supposed to fit better and provide a similar sound, but I haven't tested this so take that with a grain of salt

worth noting that these can benefit very much from even a budget amp as they're quite hard to power

They're not a difficult load at all actually, but they will reveal source issues so getting a well-designed source would cause significant improvement.

An HT-Omega Claro Halo is a good match if you don't want a desk ornament.

An Objective2/ODAC combo will make them loving sing.

A Matrix M-Stage would work well too.
