Author Topic: help with wrapperups bedroom?  (Read 1219 times)

so wrapperup is finishing up the bedroom, the only problem we have as of right now is that we cant get vehicle collision to work correctly,
for example, Person B loads bedroom, Person A and B spawn a car in bedroom, Person A accidentally drives into a wall of the bedroom, but instead of hitting it and bouncing back, flies through the wall and the vehicle basically ignores the static shapes collision.
Please, if anyone can help us PLEASE do.
we're trying to make this happen
He is using Blender.

Yeah i know. Currently I don't know of a fix. Milkshape seems to export meshes just fine (look at my bedroom map) but blender doesnt seem to do it correctly. Hopefully it can be solved.

Import the map into Milkshape, fix the collision meshes, then export it to .dts instead of trying to get it to work with Blender.

it has 130 collision meshes in the DTS
milkshape only accepts 9(?)

I have a question, why is it that you're the one asking and not Wrapperup? Also:
Since you are using blender, you can use MANY more collision meshes than you can with Milkshape. Try making a new layer for every 14 collision meshes to keep it all convex. I'm trying to get back into Blender, the only thing leashing me down is texturing.
It seems he knows what he's doing. If he needs help then let him ask for it, my money is that he can give a better explanation of what he has and hasn't tried or what he's done.

Wrapperup: but its super limited
Maxx: lets make a topic then
Maxx: there has to be people that know
Wrapperup: its like as if the actual vehicles isnt even being affected by the collision
Wrapperup: the wheels only

Maxx: if you exported in milkshape
Wrapperup: monday dont you thinkj
Maxx: for your bedroom
Maxx: hm
Wrapperup: if i did
Wrapperup: i would do it
Wrapperup: but
Wrapperup: no
Wrapperup: theres a reason y
Maxx: reeson?
Wrapperup: milkshape only allows 9 meshes per dts
Wrapperup: and my bedroom has 130+

we dont really have any leads

I say break the collision meshes down and export multiple collision shapes using Blender to see if that works.

he doesnt want to do that for some reason
idk why
it'd be about 15 total dts's if we did it with blender
