Author Topic: Should I buy the GoPro Hero? (First generation) - Read OP  (Read 1450 times)

I kinda can't help you if you are getting a hero 1 as I have a hero 3 black edition

You should use it to record getting lit

Just going to ignore your derailment attempt.
damage control

I've always wanted my own GoPro.

>furdle's topic gets derailed
>not a single person is surprised

I guess having one is pretty cool, but if possible you should try and get a newer model.

>furdle's acting like usual
>not a single person is surprised

Ftfy

not many people here have invested in a go pro

I think you're out of luck furdle

Here is a video showing the Hero 1 being compared to the Hero 2 and 3:

The Hero 1 is the worst quality compared to the Hero 2 and 3, but is actually pretty decent. Hero 2 has the best colors (best one in my opinion), and Hero 3 is the sharpest.
Overall, the Hero 1 is pretty decent but you are better off getting a Hero 2.
Hope this helps.

all of this does help
but some of those points wouldnt matter if furdle had good picture and video editing software

if he doesnt then yeah he should consider them but otherwise he can get the newest one and edit the pictures and videos later

I've had the HERO 1, 2 and currently have the 3.

-The 1 is garbage. Terrible quality and audio.
-The 2 has much better video quality but is pretty bulky and heavy. It ended up facing upside down while mounted to my helmet very often while snowboarding.
-And I'd say the 3 is really their first camera you can actually tell is HD.

I'd say the 2 is the best option since you're just gong to be using it casually. Since I use mine weekly except for between October and skiing season, I always upgrade to the newest model when I can.

Uses: Stock car racing, snowboarding and waterskiing

Thank you, an actual useful reply (Mr queebas was also helpful)
I think the store only sells 1 and 3+ so I think it's down to "do I buy the hero 1 or just borrow my brothers (which is pretty unlikely since he's a richardhead)"
So should I buy 1 or is it that stuff that it's not even worth £100? Bearing in mind im only going to take videos to show friends and family.
