oh hungary!

Public transit is great in the places it works, terrible in the places it doesn't.
Having dealt with LA's metrolink (terrible) I can understand why people are hesitant for a new crowded transportation system, but when seeing how an efficient system can function when it is planned decently like SF's BART then public transit becomes an integral and cheap part to your life. We had a car and never used it cause you could get everywhere faster on the subways while in SF.
Austin will most likely be one of the places where it doesn't work, then.  Whoever designs our infrastructure is incompetent as forget.

Sheeeit, you live in austin? if you're ever down on south congress/ St. Edwards hmu dude

But yeah I agree. The current light rail system was just nonsensically built (who the forget east of I35 even uses it?) and now they want to add more.

Edit: for some clarification, the light rail system in Austin ONLY covers low-income areas of town, and is designed to connect the downtown with all of East Austin. Nobody uses this train. Hell, the train doesn't even connect to the airport. It honestly just feels like an afterthought that some politician wanted to build because he was bored.
