Changing forum avatar

i wish to change my profile avatar, but everytime I try to upload the picture, nothing happens.  I really want to change my current picture because it wa supposed to be a gif, but turned into a png and it doesn't work anymore.  Does anyone know how to fix this, or how to properly upload a new picture?

I'm on iPad (Chrome web browser) I have tries like six times to upload a picture.  How do I clear it?

Try scaling the avatar to 75x75 pixels, also it might take a while to change.
