The Ultimate Multi-Server



About
BlockPlex is a Multi-Server. A multi-server is a server that has a bunch of different gamemodes combined into one.

Players can play on certain gamemodes, including Simon Says, Falling Platforms, and more! By playing you earn points, which you can use in shops around the place.

The build uses a mall-like style. You walk through the hallways to find a gamemode of your choosing, and you can then hang out in the lobby until the next round.

Because the server is still WIP, pictures are not available at the moment.

Features
Gamemodes:

Simon Says
Players are told what to do by a player nicknamed "Simon". If they fail to carry out the instructions they die. Pretty simple and based off of the childhood game.

Credit goes to Blake1 for the original server. He also worked on the maps for this gamemode.

[Maps]
The Gamemode includes 3 different maps of Simon's choice.

[Points]
The game gives away 1 point for playing a round, 5 for winning. 1 additional point per kill with a projectile (as Simon).

[Additional Rules]
1. Do not Self Delete as Simon.
2. Do not abuse as Simon, this includes pressing the Winner or No Winner button incorrectly.
3. No excessive blocking. Blocking over and over again will result in a ban. Please try to limit how much you block; it can be unfair at times.

Falling Platforms
An operator controls which colored platforms players are to go on. If they are unable to get onto the platform, they die. Based on the classic servers that users like Tetris, Ravencroft & Whirlwind did.

Includes 2 maps of operator's choice.

[Points]

Deathrun
There is the Killers and the Runners, the runners try to survive through a map filled with hidden dangers under the control of the Killers. If they make it to the end of the map they must attempt to fight the Killers.

*Note: This game MUST be attended to by an Admin.*

I forgot to mention in the OP that the server won't be 24/7 cause a couple of the gamemodes need moderation. Plus servers tend to keep popularity when they're only up at certain times.

Will it change gamemodes periodically or will they all be running at once and you can choose which one you want to play?
If it's the former, then it's just Chrisbot6's Good Old Gamemodes, but with different gamemodes.
If it's the latter, people have tried to do similar servers before and they've failed because you need a ton of players to fill each type of game.

It is indeed the latter, but games will be ran at certain times (by popular demand) and not all at once.

Think of it as an amusement park; some rides are open at the same time while others are closed.

I'd be surprised if this somehow turned out better than chrisbot6's. but right now my expectation is low since multiple gamemodes will be running at once. it'll call for that many more bricks to be on the server at once, and there won't be enough players for more than one gamemode at a time anyway. the one thing I might like about this that chrisbot6 doesn't have is a point system (and it better save points when you leave the server!).

At this point I don't think 'The Ultimate-Multi Server' is an appropriate name. maybe eventually though hehe

Hm, I understand this concern. I'm not sure the brickcount will skyrocket, but I'll keep an eye on it.

Yeah a lot of people have been saying this. I'm honestly not sure what to expect. Most of my servers have hit 20-40 players at once so dividing that up into, say, 2 gamemodes running at once that's 10-20 in each game. I'll definitely have to prepare for this.
One good thing that you don't have to worry about would be switching gamemodes, which last time I checked literally restarts the server. So if players suddenly want to play, Falling Tiles, transition to that game would be very smooth.

I just remembered my point saver isn't working. I'll have to try to get it working or find a different one, I'm not even sure which one I'm using lol.

something you may want to have scripted is a mod for different chat groups for each gamemode. i'm not sure if that's possible for a server-sided add-on but if so, it may be useful. however, one problem with having something like is it would be more difficult to administrate the server since you won't be able to see all the server's chat all the time.

The name is totally not based MinePlex or anything!
