Author Topic: Cannot Join Any Servers After Updating  (Read 720 times)

I opened Blockland today, which downloaded the new version of the game, and for some reason whenever I connect to any server I get this:

"Connection error. Please try another server. Error code: (CHR_PROTOCOL_LESS)"

Anything I can do to fix it?

Oddly enough, the version in the top left of my screen says 'Revision 1931', even though my Blockland apparently updated correctly. Is that important?

Bump. I have two installations of Blockland, one steam and one not-steam. The steam one works correctly but I don't like running Blockland through steam, so I suspect the problem here is with the non-steam launcher.

That error is when you have a older version.

No stuff sherlock, but why is it saying I have an older version when I opened my launcher and had it download files?

Maybe if you'd read the giant stickied topic above you'd know what to do.

Post your console.log, we aren't supposed to guess what it might be.
We ain't the bug whisperers.

We're apparently on revision 1956, as seen in the development topic. He was stating that you do in fact have an older version. So please, calm the forget down, or nobody will be willing to put up with you to help you. You shouldn't get pissy when someone is trying to assist you.

I'm evidently aware of that because I gave my version number and pointed out the discrepancy. What I'm trying to figure out is why my launcher failed to update my game, and how I'm supposed to go about updating it now.

I'm hesitant to post my console.log because my file directories contain real names and personal info. Any way to trouble shoot without them?

It's not necessary anymore because my Blockland is now the correct version for some odd reason. I didn't do anything to fix it in the last 20 minutes, so I'm just going to assume it was some kind of bizarre fluke.
