Author Topic: The New Vinyl Megathread: The Plural of Vinyl is Vinyl  (Read 5062 times)

I have a picture of Vinyl that is not allowed on this forum.
yeah and i have a bullet with ur forgetin name on it kiddo

wasnt this completely debunked last time this thread was made
If I remember correctly it was under heavy debate, but I'll remove that from the OP. I mostly just copy/pasted it with a few minor edits.

I'm here to make the argument for Casettes (as I have 200 of them) Anyone who listens to brown townog is cool in my book but I don't understand why tapes don't get any love. They have a ton of redeeming qualities over records
The only problem I really have with tapes is that they (usually) don't sound as good and their quality degrades way faster than records. They're good for old cars and boom boxes especially, and I do wanna get a walkman if I can find one, but I still prefer records whenever that's an option.

Bro you purposely ignoring me? That aint cool yo

It was [debunked], and I'm going to post it here again:

DITIAL AUDIO IS NOT A SQUARE WAVE. Digital audio is reproduced time and time again, perfectly, without fading and distorting, UNLIKE VINYL.

Vinyl is an outdated audio medium, the "warm" feel of vinyl can be reproduced through digital means for absolutely no cost to the end user. The only thing you need is a decent pair of headphones to accurately play audio back to you.

Mr Man, PLEASE take a look at this video and update the OP. It debunks a LOT of the stuff.

Also, there wasn't a single person debating it on the topic. Everyone was in agreement after seeing the video.

Alright, geez, its been a while since the last thread, I don't remember everything nor did I read every page when I went back to copy/paste. I edited the OP and deleted all that stuff. And no I wasn't trying to ignore you, you hadn't edited that post when I last saw it. But vinyl is not an outdated medium. Maybe this doesn't apply to you, but there seems to be more of a presence when you play a record, rather than just put on digitally downloaded music. And it's more satisfying to actually have a physical form of the music, rather than just a digital file or rented license.

Is it kind of like the difference between having a paper book and an ebook.

Bump because this sank like the titanic
