Author Topic: CTD when bricks are cleared (Help)  (Read 911 times)

When i clear bricks from a map that uses alot of MODter bricks, it crashes 90% of the people on the server and almost crashes me.

Why does this happen

How can i fix it?

What's the usual brickcount for these builds you're clearing?

i've noticed that modterrain bricks are kind of terrible in some ways
when making a script to generate terrain wherever I walk, it takes forever for modterrain bricks to build/destroy
if I switch it to place cubes instead they're placed almost instantly

they very from 12,000 to over 20,000 bricks including MODter  thats not that much.

considering I'm freezing for ~5 seconds or so when placing/destroying around 200 mod terrain bricks, I'm not surprised you would crash with 20k

ModTer has these kind of issues, even for beefy computers it has a little lag in it. It's something to do with the datablock because it's a big brick with print on it.

Is there a way i can get round this? or make it not crash every one on my server?

There's no way around it. Even if there was your clients would still have issues, all they need to do is get a better computer. I don't have much lag issues with ModTer anymore ever since I upgraded my computer.

I've found that a way so that you do not lag as long, is to /clearbricks
This will clear all of YOUR bricks instantly, instead of clearing all bricks in an orderly fashion

The problem is it does a loop to delete them at once, the bigger the number of bricks, the laggier the server will get.
