Emails are not the safest thing either, in fact it would be probably easier for someone to break into that first.

the encryption used for keys is complex enough, letters that are used for emails and passwords are simply ascii while keys are way more complex

I'm pretty sure keys are just alphanumeric while some e-mails and passwords have symbols in them.
