I started out in public school and simply was not doing well. I got in a lot of trouble and never got assignments done. I learned how to work independently through homeschooling and learned much more in much less time than in a public school, where you only learn at the class pace. However, I'm not dissing public school because teachers are much better at answering questions related to their expertise. I probably would've been unable to effectively learn physics and precalc through homeschooling since its pretty hard to learn those just by reading.
