Author Topic: I tore the wire out of a circuit in my headset.  (Read 3020 times)

/title

I was turning my chair around to get up and the wire was caught, so since the black rubber was already broken, it tore out of the metal for the L, and R output on the circuit.

I have $80 to spare but I don't want my parents finding out I broke an expensive headset. Its a Sades SA 708.

How can I DIY to fix this? I don't know where the wires go.

Ill try to grab a picture, give me like 30 minutes.

sounds like it was already breaking and in poor condition if the wire casing was broken off

This isn't the first time it got caught on my chair.

i rekt a Sades 7.1 headset because my chair kept running over the wires
now i have a turtle beach px22 but it doesn't completely cover my ears :(

this is another reason I don't want to buy a new headset, all the cheap ones are unconf af

iiISTHAT YOUR MONITOR

caps bro

Which one

Both are extras.
My computer desk is on the other side of the room, this is just a table I was using for a train platform.

yall or so careless with your headset omg. It's the first thing I think about when I get in or out of my chair.

keeping everything on the ground makes my headset very protected from chairs
because there are no chairs

and good luck reattaching the wires

first of all, do you have a soldering iron and heatshrink tubing

second of all, can you show a picture of the board laid out (both sides preferably - you need to see the tags such as "VDD" "VCC" or "GND"), with all wires shown separate?

lastly, I want to say that that PCB is terrible, and you'd think for such expensive headphones, the wires would be electrically isolated better :T

I feel lucky cuz my speakers have an input for headphones, so the wires aren't hanging down to the floor.

A soldering iron is a cheap fix for most broken headphones.  As long as you can find out which wire goes where and with a little bit of know-how (Google,) you can solder the wires back to the board and restore it to working condition.
