can someone help me with blender?

so i made some text, and extruded it a bit, and now when i de-select it, it looks like this:



isn't it supposed to be all grey?

maybe you set it to some sort of "wireframe" view mode

i don't know how i would do that. i'm pretty much a newbie with blender, i'm just experimenting.
