I would say B if you owned it in real life as you would in essence kill a person one and a half times!

But you have the chance to kill a person twice!

sword B

i think the point is that either is going to do 300 damage in 2 hits but that's not necessarily the case

Sword A has a 50% chance to do 200. It's like a coin flip, either sides have a chance of showing up but that doesn't alienate the probability that you get a few heads or tails in a row.

you could do 400 damage in two hits or 200, so i'd just go with the mediator, which is basically how I play all RPGs

Theoretically sword A would get 300 damage every 2 swings, however what if you never hit that 200?
Sword B is always 300 damage every 2 swings. Sword B all the way.

If I was feelin risky or lucky I would choose A which is never so B.

Sword A if it ran on fudge dice probability

i found it
i know this topic is old and stuff but
if it was a raid boss i'd take death and haste and hopefully the tank will have the attention so i can hopefully just one shot the 120M health boss

theoretically they would do the same amount of damage if each did the same amount of hits and an even amount

Depends on enemy HP.
If enemy HP <= 100, A.
If enemy HP > 100, <= 150, B.
If enemy HP > 150, <= 200, A.
Stuff like that.

I'd pick sword A for damage sponge bosses to hopefully get lucky and crit in rows

jokes on all of you everyone knows enemies only have 100 health

if you play XCOM,
you know that a 50% chance is stuff

In the long run both are equal but since (i assume) you're not gonna be hitting 100000+ times before upgrading i'd probably go for B
