While their force may have been excessive, that's no reason for the guy to continue to resist. That's just loving stupid and is going to encourage them to continue beating until he goes down. Both parties are dumb in this situation. We also have no video preceding the struggle shown, so we have nothing to say whether he attacked the cops and provoked them, or whether the attack was completely unprovoked. It seems he was arrested for reckless endangerment and two kinds of assault, which leads me to believe he wasn't a good guy in the first place, but that's just me trying to get the whole picture.
