Author Topic: What ever happened to the Hat Update?  (Read 1204 times)

Wasn't a hat update confirmed quite a while ago? What ever happened to that? If modders can make fully functional hats in a small timeframe why is development taking so long?

Is it still a thing? Is it dead? Is there a timeframe for it? Did it ever exist? Is anything real?

Zapk's (probably fake) screenshot. Here's why I say that.
definitely fake
also honno's name is in there, it seems pretty obvious zapk made it
Come on that is so obviously fake

.obj cannot replace .dts and there is no reason to list it two times.

Zapk faking everyone out

its fake

but i remember on badspots server honno and badspot were talking about some change to the game idk

But Rotondo confirmed it on BLF?

hat mod would be handicapped

hat update was confirmed multiple times

that leak is fake but the hat update is not

you can tell because there are game files relating to the update already present

it's been abandoned in favor of shoe rp

the hat update thing is legit and badspot did say he'd use OBJs for them
i can dig up screenshots from like ~2014 if anyone needs them

from my chat logs that i've been recording for several years; take it or leave it but i promise 100% it's real

from March 08, 2014

Dezi: badspot, you gotta new update in the works?
Badspot: yes
Badspot: it's got hats
Badspot: but theres a long way to go yet
...
Badspot: the idea with the hats is to make a hat system that will load obj files
Badspot: so anyone can make a hat easily and all i have to do is approve them
Badspot: also the hats would be tradable items on steam

obviously that was over a year ago so things could have changed but that's what the idea was at the time at least

A file named testhat (I forgot the extension but I think was obj) can be found in the files
