How do you directly connect to a server/can demo players connect to non-demos?

How do you connect to someone else's server via IP and port? Is it through console or somewhere else?

Also, can someone with a demo connect to me through the method I think would work above, and would addons work (assuming no because demo)?

You have a key, so you can host a server with all add-ons you like.

Demo players can open the server list and join lan servers. Playing over the internet isn't supported (for obvious reasons)
