that was a joke

people are ripping on you because this is a topic done time and time again, to nobody's benefit, and every time said poster is proven wrong as the game continues to trek on
look at pecon's link in his post on the first page; badspot literally documented these kinds of posts since the very first years BL was released as retail.

That being said, a "sequel" to Blockland would be really cool. I know some people in the community that are considering working on such a project in the future. It's obviously no easy task, but the potential such a game has is huge.

Just imagine:
-A simplified building process
-Beautiful building environments
-Bricks reflecting light properly
-Bricks stopping precipitation
-Darkness increasing in areas further away from a light source
-Vehicle physics that work
Etc improvements to the original game, as well as whatever new ideas the developer comes up with. It could garner loads of attention in the current indie development scene.

That's just fantasy though.

I'm brand new with Blockland and I must say the game seems to have a solid player base.  I got on at about 6am this morning (Eastern US) and there were plenty of populated games to choose from.

People still play.

Put Blockland gameplay on researchhub.
theres like 2382837392739273927293 perverts in the world so this is perfect. Also reminds me of like the Fallout 4 researchhub thing XD

-Bricks stopping precipitation

This is literally as simple as Badspot adding bricks to the collision mask. It's a one word change. Huh, I wonder why he hasn't done it yet?

Ya this does seem like it would be a very simple change. It would save tons of people the hassle of putting zone bricks all over their rooftops.

For those that missed it,
-Beautiful building environments
indicates high quality maps.

this is a thing I want to do when I'm older, Blockland's changed my life so much that I absolutely need to pass it on. Future computers will probably handle the stuff you were talkign about quite easily, with more.

Blockland hasn't ever dropped in popularity, it's practically the same now as it was then. Only drop I would consider is the temporary popularity when we got on steam, playercount was like what 1000, 8000? I forgot, but it was insanely high compared to what we normally get. It's funny seeing how Blockland is in some sort of limbo where it can't lose or gain players lmao.
