Author Topic: Need some serious networking help  (Read 480 times)

Ive posted about this twice in the computer thread, but didnt get any actual solution to this

Heres the gist of the situation: For the past few days, Ive been able to connect to any site I can except youtube. No matter what ive done (Resetting winsock, flush dns cache, changed dns settings on router, reset adapter, you name it), I still cannot access youtube. The error Im getting is ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED
Ive tried every solution i found on the internet and its still not working.
I really need help, this is driving me crazy

have you tried connecting to an IP of youtube's instead of the domain?

also if you're using chrome have you done the thing in chrome://net-internals/#dns that everyone suggests (I can elaborate if you've no idea what I'm talking about)

ive tried all the youtube IPs i could find, both 74.xxx.xxx.xxx and 208.xxx.xxx.xxx but they either open up to googles main page or dont load at all

have you tried changing your computer's DNS settings? 8.8.8.8 / 8.8.8.4?

what browser are you using?

this stuff happens on firefox to me all the time

Yep. Both on localhost and router, even tried comodo, openDNS, and a whole list of IPs but it still doesnt solve the problem, not even using my ISPs DNS settings

Chrome, but this happens for firefox and Edge for me also. No matter what browser I use, I still get ERR_NAME_)NOT_RESOLVED

EDIT: Alright, I decided to try the classic windows troubleshooting, and after testing name resolution, and it says "Security or firewall settings might be blocking the connection". Ive allowed chrome through the firewall, and disabled my antivirus software but it still isnt working

Fixed it, turns out it was an issue of conflicting IPs
